CANDIDATES: POSITION DESCRIPTION
VP/Director of Sales - Prestigious corporate training firm
Reports To VP Finance Location Norwalk, CT Scope and Responsibility The successful candidate for this position will be based in the New York City office and will report to the President and Chief Operating Officer of this industry leader. The individual will be a member of the senior management team. This person will be responsible for maintaining/building an account base, working at all levels of the sales cycle, including marketing, prospecting, partnering on face-to-face sales calls, establishing needs assessment, implementing training solutions, measuring training effectiveness, and maintaining a database. He or she will be expected to gain an excellent understanding of the company's services and products. As Director, this person must be able to identify, develop and leverage training expertise in the current and past clients. Measuring the leads to sales close ratio and ROI by campaign and aggregating it by source / type. Generating the correct quantity and quality of leads according to the leads / sales close ratio and the number, seniority, geographical location (region) and vertical markets of the sales team This person must be a thinker with the ability to make creative recommendations and provide expert strategic advice to clients' senior officials. He or she will oversee the following primary functions: Background Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this position will be an executive with a minimum of approximately ten years of business experience in sales. Strong professional services experience involving client relationship building, presentation and implementation methodologies, and profitability responsibilities are required. He or she must have a high level of energy and enthusiasm for the competitive training service marketplace. A Bachelor's degree is required. This person must have the strategic leadership and self-confidence to drive the company's future direction with aggressive sales efforts. The Director should have demonstrated an ability to find innovative solutions, have sound budgeting and administration skills, and a high information systems aptitude. Interpersonal Traits: The Director must have a professional image to gain the respect of the company's senior management, staff and of course clients. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively on his or her own. Outstanding written and oral communication skills are required. In addition to the training industry knowledge required for this position, this person must be results oriented, practical and committed to the delivery of outstanding training service at the highest level. This person must possess the maturity, integrity, intelligence, and professional appearance. Compensation The target base salary compensation will be a range of $115,000 to $125,000 plus an attractive sales incentive scheme and an annual discretionary bonus.
