MANAGER/SR. MANAGER, PUBLIC ACCOUNTING
Scope and Responsibility Our client, an international public accounting firm, has openings in its New York City and southern Connecticut locations. With approximately 300 professionals in the New York regional practice area, the firm serves middle market business clients within a across a wide range of industries. The firm seeks two general services professionals at the Manager or Sr. Manager level to perform the following services for the firm's clients: The Manager or Sr. Manager may also indirectly manage one or two staff level accountants at any given time, as well as execute all facets of client engagements as a representative of the firm. As the successful candidate becomes more familiar with the firm and its clientele, he or she will be increasingly looked to for additional sources of business revenue with an eye toward eventually being considered as a potential candidate for a partner/principal role. The firm offers a comfortable and professional working environment, and a chance to be a part of a large, international organization while still working in a "small office" setting. Background Required Qualifications: An undergraduate degree in Accounting and a CPA certification (Connecticut or New York strongly preferred) are required; an advanced degree is a plus. Qualified applicants must have 5-8 years' experience to be considered for a Manager role, and 7-10 years to be considered for the Sr. Manager role. While some combination of public and private is acceptable, the vast majority of the successful candidate's experience will be in a public accounting firm of similar size and/or market focus. Notable experience managing audit engagements and staff accountants is required in order to be considered. In addition, applicants should have a working knowledge of relevant software applications, such as Microsoft Great Plains or MAS 90. Interpersonal Traits: The successful candidate will be someone who is a self-starter and can hit the ground running. He or she must be a bright team player who possesses solid communication skills.
