Job Description
One of our major clients is a leading global capital goods manufacturer and service provider. The division we support has a global presence in over 35 countries and has more than 20 key product lines that are either #1 or #2 in their global market space.
Our client has retained us to find a Director of Quality to support and oversee their US operations with its headquarters in the Northeast.
About the Challenge:
This is a key leadership position within our client's US operations. This position will require an experienced quality leader with high value/complex capital goods manufacturing and/or heavy equipment assembly/systems integration experience, supporting revenue in excess of $500MM. The position requires a leader with a global mindset and experience working with a global quality organization in an ISO9001-2000 setting. This position requires a leader that is able to facilitate and drive change in a fast paced and "ever changing" environment with minimal direction and oversight. Key to success in this position is creating a vision for driving change and quality improvement that is facilitated by creating buy-in by key off site matrix team stakeholders.
About the Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for managing the site's entire quality organization supporting revenue in excess of $500MM.
This position will manage/lead/mentor a large site quality organization.
This position will have strategic responsibility for quality functional deployment of the site and ensure alignment with corporate and customer requirements.
This position will work closely with key project/product management, manufacturing, and engineering teams within the business to establish specific quality requirements, plans, and inspection criteria for each key product line.
This position will responsible for maintaining the organizations ISO9001-2000 certification along with the resolution of corrective action items as required.
This position will work closely with product, project, manufacturing and engineering management teams on new product and existing product life cycle improvement efforts to ensure proper costing and inclusion of product quality requirements.
This position will ensure compliance with all customer quality requirements, with a focus on defect reduction per unit and a reduction in COPQ as key measures of success.
This position will track and scorecard overall quality performance metrics related to products/projects/customers and address problematic trends with both tactical and strategic solutions.
Background Required
Critical to Quality and Success (CTQS) Technical Requirements:
10-15+ years of increasing responsibility in quality leadership/management
BS/BA with preference for BS Technical
High value / complex capital goods, heavy equipment assembly/systems integration experience
Must have experience managing a quality organization in a ISO9001-2000 environment
Ability to work under pressure with competing business/customer requirements
Excellent knowledge of manufacturing methods and processes
Excellent knowledge of continuous improvement methods (Six Sigma, Lean, TQM, and QFD)
Compensation
The compensation package includes a competitive salary with bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be dependent on the background and experience level of the candidate. Full relocation is provided for the right candidate requiring relocation.
