Assistant Vice President, Master Black Belt - Fortune 500 Company

Job Description
Supporting our Six Sigma initiative will be a Master Black Belt with significant Six Sigma experience. He or she will support the Six Sigma initiative by coaching and mentoring Black Belts, all of whom will be deployed. The Master Black Belt will also work extensively with Senior Leaders, as they learn to effectively apply this problem-solving methodology and sponsor projects.

Responsibilities
  • Support the establishment of a "Best Practices" Six Sigma initiative
  • Over time, adapt the Black Belt training curriculum for the purpose of certifying and deploying Back Belts throughout the organization
  • Track the progress of the Six Sigma Black Belts and overall success of selected projects particularly assisting newly minted Black Belts in driving successful initiatives
  • Oversee, train and mentor Black Belts
  • Act as change agent to instill Six Sigma culture throughout organization and drive measurable business process improvement

  • Qualifications
  • Track record of achievement in driving process improvement, utilizing Six Sigma methodologies, in a high volume transactional environment
  • Previous experience training and certifying Black Belts
  • DFFS and LEAN experience is a plus
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence and "push back" on Senior Leadership, when appropriate
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Previous experience in operations improvement in an organization or with a premier consulting firm preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively coach Business Leaders, Champions, Sponsors, Black Belts and Green Belts
  • Strong leadership skills, able to facilitate cross functional teams and have an in-depth understanding of change management and business process management
  • Proficiency in Minitab, Excel

  • Experience/Education
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Master Black Belt certification is required from an organization or association recognized for their expert certification process
